Built in 1971, the 30m high Julia Creek Water Tower features a distinctive shape giving it its ‘wine glass’ name. The unique shape enhances water pressure to cool the artesian water that comes out of the ground at 60°C.

MAL Engineers team members undertook the design and documentation of the remedial works for the structure. The remedial works included external crack injection, spalling repairs, an internal epoxy coating system and external waterproof membrane installation on the roof structure. The internal ladder was also augmented to ensure compliance with AS1657.

Along with the design and documentation, MAL Engineers team members undertook the project management during the construction phase of the project.
