The Energy Queensland Limited (EQL) Logistics Warehouse at Edmonton is a 2-hectare site development to provide a centralised storage and dispatch facility to support the development and maintenance of the region’s electrical supply infrastructure.

The site was formerly a sugar cane plantation and required extensive site works to achieve a flood-immune building platform and access. The building consists of nominally 2,400sq.m. of warehouse storage, 1,500sq.m. of covered set down and loading areas, 250sq.m. office annexe and 17,000sq.m. of external hardstand area.

The depot is a distribution hub for the Far North region, storing power poles, cables and other equipment to supply communities from the Torres Strait to Tully and west to Normanton

MAL Engineers staff undertook the design and documentation of all buildings on the site as well as the design and documentation of all civil works and hardstands.
